ADVANCED FIRE FIGHTING (IMO 2.03)
(Ochrona przeciwpożarowa stopnia wyższego)

Health certificate.
Basic Fire Fighting certificate.
(The course is intended for crewmembers designated for leading the fire fighting action.)

Theory of the fire; fire fighting on board (prevention, procedures); technical service and usage of fire-detection and emergency installations; dangers during fire fighting.

Small fire extinguishing (with the use of carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, dry powder extinguishers ); practical drills in smoke chamber with the use of breathing apparatus; rescuing the mannequin; practical drills (unwinding, winding and joining the fire hoses and power generators); extinguishing fires with  streams of water (dense and diffuse) and foam   (high expansion, medium expansion and light expansion); practical drills inside the ship superstructure (inquiry of a fire; fire fighting with the use of water streams; protection of surrounding spaces; estimation of the fire fighting action).

MEDICAL FIRST AID (IMO 1.14)

Health certificate.
Elementary First Aid certificate.
(The course is intended for crewmembers designated for giving first aid.)

Body structure and function; examination of casualty or patient; spinal injuries; burns; effects of heat and cold; medical care of rescued persons; pharmacology; sterilization; cardiac arrest; drowning and asphyxia.

Bandaging; immobilization of body limbs; resuscitation; position of casualty; subcutaneous and  intramuscular injections; blood pressure measurement.

MEDICAL CARE (IMO 1.15)
(Opieka medyczna)

Medical First Aid certificate.
(The course is intended for crewmembers with at least watch officer title.)

Kinds of accidents; illnesses; poisoning; dental care; gynecological cases;  medical care of rescued persons;  medicines and medical equipment;  living conditions on board; death at sea.

Immobilization of body limbs; bandaging techniques; position of casualty; blood pressure measurement; suturing wounds.

PROFICIENCY IN SURVIVAL CRAFT AND RESCUE BOATS OTHER THAN FAST RESCUE BOATS (IMO 1.23)

Health certificate.
Personal Survival Techniques certificate.
6 months practice on board at sea.
(The course is intended for crewmembers designated for driving the collective rescue mean.)

Survival craft and rescue boat equipment; evacuations techniques from the ship; survival techniques; techniques of calling for help.

Maneuvering of survival craft, practical drills on the pneumatic liferaft; devices used for methods of launching the survival craft; practical drills during night.

PROFICIENCY IN FAST RESCUE BOATS (IMO 1.24)

Health certificate.
Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats certificate.
(The course is intended for the crewmembers designated for driving the fast rescue boat.)

Legislative acts; the construction and equipment of fast rescue boat; the construction and usage of FRB’s engine; communication patterns; signalling.

Launching and recovery of the FRB; maneuvering of FRB in regular and extreme conditions;  approaching to the liferaft with castaways within; hauling the liferaft.
